We have a new microgreen supplier with radish and broccoli sprouts available in the store. This is a new product but we are very familiar with the owner and producer, Nate York, who has been a CSA member for many years and lives right here in Junction City.
Nate rented a small shipping container and outfitted it with lights and clean water so that he can grow a reliable crop for us. He carefully sources clean, organic seeds, uses organic soil and waters with filtered water.
"We have had a dream of using our land to produce locally grown produce since moving our family here in 2016," said Nate. They also grow elderberries on their farm, and in the past raised ducks. "We have been inspired by the Deck family and the farm they have built and run."
Nate’s “real job” is a Knowledge Engineer for a software company dealing with food traceability and formulation. His wife, Amy, is a Hospice Nurse.
You can find Lone Wolf Ranch microgreens in the leafy greens section of our store.
I'm currently enjoying them on a sandwich with sourdough bread, tangy cheese and mayonnaise!
